Garage Sale
There will be a garage sale this weekend at 7517 Lazy Spur Blvd. It's a great opportunity to browse for something wanted or to even have a garage sale of your own and take advantage of the extra traffic into the neighborhood.
National Night Out 2012
Here is a bit of information regarding this year's National Night Out. Although we will not be planning an offical block party for this event it is still a good time to get out and meet your neighbors.

Associa CEO Direct:
A message from Mark Southall, President and CEO of Principal Management Group
Dear Board Members,
I
am thrilled to announce Associa and Principal Management Group of North
Texas as the national promotional sponsor for National Night Out 2012.
In fact, we are the only community management firm to partner with NNO.
Many
of you are familiar with National Night Out, have participated in the
past, or plan to participate this year. Last year’s NNO campaign
involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses,
neighborhood organizations and local officials from more than 15,000
communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and
military bases worldwide. This year’s event will be August 7th.
I cannot imagine a better collaboration for Associa and Principal Management Group.
Our
National Night Out sponsorship will kick off with a month-long Facebook
promotion. From July 2 to August 7, when an individual “Likes”
Associa’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/associa),
he or she is entered into a sweepstakes to win a FREE Fall Safety Block
Party for the neighborhood. The Fall Safety Block Party is valued at
$2,500 and will include an appearance by the Associa Supports Kids
mascot Scout and
the NNO Knight mascot. The event could also include food, festivities,
entertainment, and police and fire department attendance.
There
will also be a National Night Out photo gallery on Associa’s Facebook
page. You can submit your own community event photos or photos from
this year or previous National Night Out events. In addition, for every
“Like” Associa receives, the company will donate $1 to the National
Night Out organization, up to $20,000.
I encourage you to share the Facebook Fall Safety Block Party promotion with your community and homeowners.
If
you are interested in hosting an NNO event, or if you are already
planning your event, make sure to register your neighborhood with
National Night Out at www.nno.org/nno/reg.html or
contact your community manager for assistance.
I
am excited to be the national promotional sponsor for National Night
Out 2012; even more so, to be the only community management firm
partnering with National Night Out.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Wednesday, July 11, 2012

Useful Numbers for Code Compliance
If you notice a violation or a problem with code compliance you should
do two things:
1. Contact an HOA Board Member with the details (villagesofchisholmridge@gmail.com), and
2. Contact the appropriate city division to report the problem
Taking both actions will help resolve the issue faster. Here are a few handy numbers that I had found in my water bill that might be helpful to find the number you need to call. There are many other helpful numbers, links and news articles at the Fort Worth City website. (http://fortworthtexas.gov/)

Lawn Tips for a Green Yard
Tip #1: Spectrazied Weed Stop for Lawns for the Bermuda Grass formula is great for the grass. It's applied with a garden hose and the Henbit weeds will be wiped out. It's easy to get rid of but untreated it will take over the grass and kill the lawns. Let it set for a week then lay down new seed to fill in the bare spots.
Tip #2: Large bags of used coffee beans from Starbucks is a great use of fertilizer.
Tip #3: Ironite from Home Depot or Lowes comes in a big bag and applied to the grass will give them the extra neitrition needed to help grow thicker and greener.
Tip #4: If you're mowing your back yards, it's best to mow at dusk so that it heals overnight and doesn't burn out.
